Chrys Phillips was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia where she grew up in an underprivileged home environment without consistent parents in her upbringing and passed from family to family in a foster style system. To escape these times in her early years, Chrys was already writing her own stories, before she knew what it meant to be a storyteller...
A passion and drive to tell stories has never left Chrys, taking her from a kid in a room dreaming up and writing about fictional worlds to an international acclaimed and best-selling Author and successful Screenwriter/Director. She is passionate about creating stories that engage audiences and evoke emotions, through her relatable and authentic characters that have true identities and life choices.
Praised and revered for her success and contributions within the industry, Phillips soared to acclaim as a respected and well-known Writer & Director with the success of her TV Drama Series Counter Play which aired on Australia’s Nine Network 2018-2020 and worldwide on streaming platform Amazon Prime.
Masterfully transitioning from TV to Film, the YA feel-good summer flick Madison and the Happiness Jar marks Chrys's feature directorial debut. The movie which was shot during Covid, premiered June 30TH 2021 on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Roku & SKY Q.
